“I’m proud to be a Gold Scholar. The community is unlike any group on campus - I’m surrounded by inspiring, high-achieving students pursuing different disciplines and passions, where we all support and take interest in each other’s endeavors. I’ve found mentors, friends, and a support system that have stuck by my side through my highest and lowest points at Tech. I feel incredibly fortunate to have gone white-water rafting on retreats with my closest friends, discussed morals and ethics with a Georgia Supreme Court Justice, and experienced other enriching opportunities that have shaped the type of student and leader I am today and will become tomorrow. Biology is biology no matter where you study it, however for me, the Gold Scholars Program is a unique part of my college experience that I expect to carry with me throughout the rest of my time at Tech and beyond.”

“My favorite part of the Gold Scholar community is definitely the people! From joining an outstanding group of scholars (many of whom have become my close friends) to getting to know and working with the professional staff members, being a part of the OSS community has greatly supported me throughout my time at Tech and is one of the reasons I call GT my home away from home.”

“I cannot overemphasize the value the Gold Scholars Program has brought to my college experience. The support system, both from the staff and my peers, has enabled me to seek opportunities I otherwise would not have felt confident to pursue. Entrepreneurial decisions I witnessed have been instrumental in informing my own leadership choices. Most importantly, however, the close associations I have established in this program have profoundly impacted the course of my life. I made many unlikely friends. Often, I collided with contrasting perspectives that enrich how I view the world. I will always be grateful for finding a community through which I can always count on to discuss the geopolitical consequences of social media, navigate a cave system, or discover fossils.”

“The Gold Scholars are an authentic, bright, and fun crew! My Scholar friends never cease to bring me a laugh or philosophical pondering, and the alumni I have met have been instrumental to my professional development and world perspectives. No other scholars I’ve known have ever simultaneously rafted backwards through whitewater while surviving a 7 day camping trip (with only 7 items).”

“I've had an absolutely amazing experience at GT these past 4 years as a part of the Gold Scholar community. I've made some amazing friends and have gained mentors from a wide array of academic disciplines. My class of Gold Scholars was actually the first to do a Tech Trek, and this trek has remained a cherished memory of mine. I love the Gold Scholar community, and I am extremely proud that every year the incoming class gets larger and more diverse. Even after I graduate, I know I will still be connected to the Gold community and that the relationships I have built here will last. The future of the Gold Scholar community is looking golden!”
