Application Review

The Georgia Tech Gold Scholarship is a merit-based program offered annually to the top two percent of high school seniors from across the United States who enroll at Georgia Tech. Selected scholars demonstrate academic excellence, a strong moral compass, and a desire to have a remarkable impact on technology and society through collaborative endeavors.

To ensure consideration for both the Gold Scholars Program (part of the Stamps President’s Scholarship), potential first-year students must apply for admission to Georgia Tech by the early action deadline. There is no additional application used to determine Stamps Scholar/Gold Scholar semifinalists.

Transfer applicants are not eligible; applicants must also be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or the United Kingdom to be considered. Citizens of the Republic of Ireland may be considered as well.

Application Suggestions

  • No additional materials will be accepted by the program. Each student is evaluated solely by merit as determined by their Georgia Tech admission application.

Selection of Major

Students wishing to compete for a Stamps President’s or Gold Scholarship must do so with the primary major they listed in their application for undergraduate admission and may not confirm a different major after deposit. Furthermore, any student awarded either scholarship may not change their major until the last day of the Spring term of their first year, e.g., a student enrolling in the fall 2027 may not change their major until May 2028.

Confirming or changing to a different major before the end of the first year will result in revocation of the scholarship offer and/or award. For that reason, we recommend that students who wish to remain in consideration for Stamps President's and Gold Scholarship wait to confirm their major until they know their status in that selection process.
